I love to hang my curtains half way between the top of the window and the ceiling and wide enough so that two thirds of the curtain hangs on the wall when they're open.

Where do you start when decorating a room or home?
I like to start with a color palette and the feel of the space.

Malik Logan

My name is Malik Logan, founder and principal designer of The Tailored Interiors, based in Raleigh, NC. I specialize in men’s interiors & residential, with a primary focus in custom new construction. When I first started out in 2020, I posted pictures on Instagram solely of my home alone. That grew an impressive audience who that became my tribe and community! We all come from different backgrounds, but we’re all able to relate to one another and share similar interests!

How would you describe your design style?
Timeless luxury that blends masculine & feminine elements. I love a soft neutral color palette and playing with textures!

What are couple of decorating tips you would have for our followers?
Stray far, far, far away from trends! Trends come and go and aren’t meant to stay. You may love something now, but ask yourself, “Is this something that I will love five years from now?”

Invest in pieces that are multifunctional! Optimization is key to any design. A perfect example would be the Umbra Woodrow Storage Stool. It can be used in multiple ways; as a table, extra seating and as storage. You can throw items in it that you don’t want to be seen. The more versatile an item is, the better!

Showcase who you are throughout your home! If you are a world traveler and collect art from every country you visit, hang the artwork! Your home is a true representation of who you are. Show your character and personality throughout it. Don't hide the pieces you love!

Where do you start when decorating a room or home?
Start by determining a budget. Shop around at some of your favorite retailers and add some items into your cart. It doesn’t have to be the exact items that you want, but this will help you set a realistic budget for how much designing or decorating your space will cost.

Create a mood board! Pinterest will probably end up being your best friend in this stage. Pin pins that fit you and the overall aesthetic you’re trying to achieve. Whether it be color palettes, furniture, vignettes, artwork, textures, etc. Pin it! This will help you form an overall design and lead you in the right direction. Afterward, you’ll be able to hone in to the pieces that you truly love!

Hi I’m Megan! I’m a mom of three and I love creating beautiful spaces that my family can enjoy! On my social media I share interior decor inspiration alongside life with my family, it’s a nice mix of pretty aesthetic and messy real life lol!

How would you describe your design style?
I always struggle with narrowing down my design style! I’m not exactly sure what it would be but somewhere along the lines of cozy, modern traditional. I love neutrals with pops of black and layering in textures with pillows and throws.

What are couple of decorating tips you would have for our followers?
Always include some dark accents in a room. It helps add focus to a space and if you love neutrals and a soothing palette like me, adding in some black accent pieces will ground the room.

If a room feels flat, add in some plants! They can be real or fake but that pop of greenery adds life to a room.

Lastly, I always love to layer in a rug. It can completely transform a room! If you’re layering over carpet, find a heavier weight rug so it won’t curl up or shift.

Where do you start when decorating a room or home?
I always start with creating a design board! This has been a game changer for pulling a room together and saves time from wondering if an item will look good or not or buying decor that doesn’t end up working.

LIFESTYLE CONTENT CREATOR
@annleslie__

My name is Leslie, a lifestyle content creator based in TN, USA. I am not a designer by profession but my love for home decor has always been seen through my Instagram page. I like sharing creative ideas with my followers and they have been very supportive of the way I design our limited amount of space.

How would you describe your design style?
I've always been a fan of modern-minimalist-scandinavian themed style. This is why my heart melted when I saw the Umba Bellwood Furniture Collection. The design concept really resonated with my home decor goals.

What are couple of decorating tips you would have for our followers?
For those who have been following me for a long time, they know how much I opt for white and natural wood. White for me serves as a blank canvass where all my decor and styling ideas flow.

Where do you start when decorating a room or home?
I believe you should start decorating in the entryway or living room. It's the first part of the house that we see once we enter and it would create a first impression to our guests and visitors so make sure that your living room will be worth the look.

@DIYsquad

My name is Michele and together with my children Gianna and Matteo we are the DIY Squad. Our online community focuses on product reviews, home decor and do it yourself projects.

How would you describe your design style?
If I had to describe my design style it would be minimal and modern. A large focus of mine is organization. I love when everything has its own place.

What are couple of decorating tips you would have for our followers?
Add mirrors to smaller rooms to make them appear larger. Another would be to always tuck your rugs under furniture legs for a polished look.

Where do you start when decorating a room or home?
Start at the entrance way. It will help set the flow for your design. Currently in our space we have gone with a black and white color theme. Which makes everything look crisp and modern.

ALSO SOME INSPIRATION FROM OUR CUSTOMERS

"I couldn’t be happier with this mirror. The quality is outstanding and you can hang it vertically or horizontally. I love the black shelves on the edges for a cute decor. It just adds the perfect touch to the mirror."

- @myrusticmodernliving

"I just received the set of 3 & I LOVE how versatile these are! These can easily go from office, bathroom, kitchen, to bedroom. Keep them as a set or split them up for various uses. They can transition from vase to container and the “lids” allow for stacking for dual storage or can be used as a tea light holder. So fun! I highly recommend! You will find a million uses for these & they can literally go in any room for any purpose."

- @bethfisherdesigns

"This mirror is such a staple piece and can be used in so many places. I needed a mirror that was tall and this is so perfect. Plus the arch on top adds some character. In the mean time, I stuck it on top of a table and I am in love. Also it came packaged so well. I was very impressed."

- @simplyhomewithkara

"I absolutely love this new hair tool organizer! My hair tools and beauty products used to take over our entire bathroom vanity - this saves so much space and makes it super easy to locate everything with all the compartments! Love the simple but sturdy design to go with our neutral home, and the fact that I could easily wipe it down after some of my makeup spilled inside. I won’t be going back to my makeup bags that hold onto those awful stains, and are hard to rummage through. Would definitely recommend - it’s made my morning routine SO much easier! Also the heat protective silicone mat for my tools is genius! It’s a game changer for organization!"

- @woodbeamsandlinendreams

"This organizer is the perfect addition to my bathroom! I can store my makeup, brushes, and other items stylishly! The moon shaped design is a great space saver too!! I would highly recommend for any bathroom or side table!"
