What you’ll do …

The Photographer will provide creative direction of photographic assets, lighting, layout, and post-production for Umbra photo shoots. Working with the Creative Content Specialist, you will manage the overall feel of the Umbra brand with photography for the Brand Studio.

  • Set and consistently achieve world- class quality photographic work in portraying Umbra branded products
  • Style and prop for close-cropped product photography and in-situated photography with little to no supervision
  • Produce product photography for editorial, catalogue, sell sheets, promotional brochures, advertising, and web
  • Work closely with project managers, product designers and graphic designers to ascertain the features and benefits of new products and convey into a series of photographic pre-production steps including: shot concepts, layout specifications, propping and booking models, lighting and camera set-up
  • Perform Image capture, raw file conversion, retouching, color correction, Photoshop enhancements, preparations for in-house Graphics and Marketing departments as required
  • Maintain all aspects of the digital workflow and archiving process including: saving files to digital asset server using established file type protocols and profiles, archiving all image files to hard disk daily and cataloging images into Portfolio
  • Maintain and update company-wide image library, ensuring that the latest images are uploaded and available
  • Manage daily operation of photography studio and prop inventory
  • Coordinate purchases and regular maintenance of appropriate equipment and supplies to accomplish results, training graphics staff as needed
  • Complete project management responsibility of all photoshoots in terms of setups, propping and lighting
  • Maintain internal relationships with the Graphics, Design, Marketing and Sales departments
  • Maintain external relationships with photographers, ad agency, various suppliers
  • Manage digital archives of all scanned images (stock and in-house produced) including cataloguing of facepaper stock images
What you’ll bring …
Education/Experience: Completion of a college or university degree with specific courses in photography. Minimum of 5 years in product photography with a world-class photography portfolio. The ability to translate and understand product/company brand through photographic medium. Strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate daily with other creative people. A proven track record of creative and functional work.
Technical Skills:
  • Strong computer skills – Adobe CC, Apple OS
  • Strong camera equipment knowledge: Hasselblad, Nikon, Cannon
  • Knowledge of 3D rendering software (Keyshot) strongly preferred

Are you a top sales performer with a solid track record selling branded and private label product lines?

Are you passionate about growing revenue by developing and managing Key Accounts and building strong customer relationships?

What you’ll do …
  • Drive sales and revenue selling branded and private label product lines following brand guidelines
  • Build strong customer relationships at the buyer and management level ensuring high-profile meetings are scheduled regularly
  • Promote customer visits to our headquarters, global tradeshows and factory
  • Lead by example and motivate other sales personnel
  • Provide product information and special quotes on pricing and margins to customer accounts
  • Follow up on sales leads, and identify and develop new business opportunities in the marketplace, including product, channel and account leads
  • Develop sales reports and budgets and monitor monthly reports to analyze sales and POS transactions
  • Meet and exceed monthly sales goals and metrics
  • Coordinate and attend tradeshows, meetings and related sales promotional events
  • Stay current on the competitive retail market, sales reporting, quality concerns, imitations in the market and trends and communicate internally to business partners
  • Assist in the development of new integrated marketing strategies to raise brand awareness and enhance Umbra’s market position
What you’ll bring …
  • Equivalent of a university/college degree in Business Administration
  • 5 years’ experience in sales, account management, business development or a related environment managing multiple accounts. Experience with major North American CPG retailers is preferred
  • Successful track record selling branded and private label product lines with strong customer relations and negotiating skills
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Power Point and reporting tools is required; SAP knowledge is an asset
  • Available to travel 50% of the time to Northeastern US with valid travel documentation
  • Resilient with demonstrated ability to aggressively exceed sales targets, grow sales and revenue, persevere and handle objections
  • Solid business acumen with proven analytical, problem solving and retail financial skills
  • Independent thinker with the ability to self-direct and self-motivate in a high-pressured environment

The Design Representative will support the Umbra Store as a sales associate, providing exceptional service to our customers.

What you’ll do …

Customer Service: You will positively promote company vision and core values through providing exemplary customer care. You will act as a Brand Ambassador by being positive, friendly, honest, respectful and professional. You will deliver excellent customer service to positively impact brand loyalty, purchase and repeat visits.

Sales: You will be passionate about the selling process, drive sales and show customers products that fit their needs. You will assist with achieving targeted sales results. You will be the authority on Umbra products, sharing the story behind the brand and each design.

Store Operations: You will participate in receiving and merchandising (this includes lifting heavy boxes). You will ensure calling customers regarding orders upon arrival and checking the hold room. You will maintain a neat, organized and on brand environment by cleaning store interior, washrooms, windows and patio.

What you’ll bring …

Experience: 1+ years of retail or customer service experience. Proven sales ability in a retail environment (housewares and quality giftware). An interest or background in fashion or design. High energy and an outgoing personality.

Education: Post-secondary degree and/or diploma in retail, graphic and industrial design would be an asset.

Entrepreneurial: You demonstrate a “no job is too small” mentality; you like to roll up your sleeves, jump in and get it done! You are a goal oriented, high achiever. You appreciate the nuances of a private, non-corporate company environment.
