  • Perform image creation, retouching, color and material correction, Photoshop enhancements, preparations for in-house graphics and the Marketing Department as required
  • Produce world-class quality 3D renderings for the web, catalog, sell sheets, promotional brochures and advertising
  • Work closely with internal team members including project managers, product designers and graphic designers to communicate features and benefits of new products and convey them in shot concepts, layout specifications, propping, lighting and CAD modelling
  • Maintain archiving process and image library including saving files to digital asset server; ensure latest images are uploaded and available
What you’ll bring to be successful…
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of 3D rendering software, Archviz, PBR, 3DS MAX, VRAY, F-Storm, Solidworks, Adobe Photoshop and 3D Keyshot ; keen eye for composition, lighting, scene assembly and photorealism is a must
  • Collaborative team player with strong work ethic: Can adapt to changing priorities with a positive attitude and work independently and collaboratively as part of a team within strict deadlines to produce results; demonstrated ability to work on multiple initiatives with other creative people and projects simultaneously with high attention to detail
  • Suggested Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in Graphic, Product or Interior Design is a plus. Specific courses in 3D media, CAD and Rendering are assets
  • Preferred Experience: Previous experience in an entrepreneurial work environment involving design, fashion trends and home-related products definitely a plus!

What you’ll do to be successful…
  • Design Original Products: Design original and innovative products and graphics for the Décor category including photo displays, clocks, planters, hooks, organizers and home accessories. Collaborate with Category Management, China Development and Design, Marketing, and Sales teams to design branded and private label products for many of the world’s largest global retailers.
  • Research and Develop New Design Ideas: Research and identify original décor product ideas, designs, materials and production techniques. Manage all aspects of product development from design specification to launch. Update and develop product specifications accurately and on time including product illustrations and production data.
  • Present Original Product Design Ideas: Present and recommend your original décor product design ideas to the Senior Design Lead and Senior Management. Create prototypes for approval and customer presentations.
  • Build Relationships: Build and maintain important relationships with the Design community and attend local design-related events. Work from the Umbra Concept store located in downtown Toronto once a week to engage with customers.
What you’ll bring to be successful…
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and CAD programs including SOLIDWORKS and KeyShot.
  • Design Sense: Proven ability to design innovative and user-focused products and translate trends into commercially viable designs. Sound understanding of home décor trends, assortment planning and putting themes and collections together.
  • Model making: Exceptional skills in sketching, paper cutting and developing handmade models and prototypes.
  • Reporting and Presentation Skills: Solid reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills. Well-developed communication, presentation and interpersonal skills required to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Attentive to detail and highly organized.
  • Education: Post-secondary degree or equivalent in Design with a preference for Industrial, Environmental, Architectural or similar program. In-depth knowledge of a wide variety of materials and manufacturing processes, especially plastics.
  • Preferred Experience: 2-3 years’ experience in Industrial or Product Design preferably in the home décor or housewares industry. Strong understanding of design and product development from concept to production including knowledge of material capabilities and limitations.

What you’ll do to be successful…
  • Drive Revenue Growth: Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to develop strategies and drive revenue growth and Ecommerce opportunities. Monitor customer performance scorecard in collaboration with Customer Operations and facilitate actions to improve service levels specifically on inventory fulfillment/fill rate.
  • Develop Analytics, Processes and Recommendations: Build and implement innovative demand planning processes. Develop analytics to identify opportunities and risks and recommend appropriate actions. Demonstrate visible leadership in ongoing process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams: Collaborate with the Product Development Team to ensure efficient and timely process flow of new product releases. Work actively with teams to ensure that APO (Advanced Planner Optimizer) is effective and integrates seamlessly with SAP MRP and Sales Order modules including proper reporting in BW. Build strong relationship with Operations ensuring constant communication on any forecast shifts that will impact DC’s.
What you’ll bring to be successful…
  • Technical Skills: Highly proficient computer skills with extensive experience in any Demand Planning/Forecasting application. APO and SAP experience is an asset.
  • Analytical Skills: Well developed analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to resolve complex mathematical, algorithmic, and statistical problems. Driven to learn, research and improve analytics skillset.
  • Presentation Skills: Proven ability to organize and present data in an impactful and coherent way. Well-developed communication, presentation and interpersonal skills required to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Attentive to detail with an eye for subtleties in complex systems.
  • Education: Equivalent of a degree in Mathematics, with a concentration in Statistics. MBA is an asset.
  • Preferred Experience: 5+ years’ experience in leading Demand Planning teams with solid understanding of complex forecasting processes and algorithms. Ecommerce experience is highly desired. Proven success in multi-tasking and meeting strict deadlines and objectives. Open minded, solution-oriented and assertive in pursuing open issues to closure.
