Trash need not be boring. Make a statement with one of Umbra’s new graphic cans designed by New York based artist Joshua Davis. Davis, alongside designer David Quan, has partnered with Umbra to create three original and funky art patterns turned into functional trash cans.
Available in three colors – red, kiwi and ocean – the ARTALA cans will positively make a statement in any room. This year Umbra introduced a wide range of eco-friendly cans and are proud to announce the ARTALA cans are made from biodegradable plastic.
Davis has also used his art technique to create patterns for the Umbra CRUNCH® can. In seagreen and brown, CRUNCH® is perfect for storing laundry or toys. The cans fold flat for quick storage and have handles on the side making it easy to carry.
Davis pioneered an original methodology of computational, generative art known as Dynamic Abstraction. In every day terms, Davis seeks through his art to discover the beautiful accident. He has exhibited at innovative, new-media
galleries such as Maxalot and Espies and at major institutions like the Tate Modern, MoMA, PS1 and the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt. |
