Umbra Helps Organize Every Room

New space-saving items from Umbra put you in control in every room in your home.

Start with the elegant FLIPPER (at far right in photo above). This curvaceous shower caddy, designed by David Quan, has customizable flip-down shelves and can accommodate a vast array of showering needs, including liter-sized bottles – it even has a clip for a razor. And it will never rust!

Who doesn’t need extra kitchen storage? Sativa Turner designed a fresh take on a classic with SCHWING (second from right in photo), a set of three stainless steel baskets linked by ball chain that keep fruit, vegetables and other kitchen necessities within reach but out of the way.

Then there’s the STRETCH towel bar (in center of photo), which sets up in minutes without tools, screws or fasteners. STRETCH uses bungee cords that stretch over bendable door hooks from the top of the door to the bottom, and has three adjustable full-sized towel bars. "It’s the maximum amount of storage for a minimum price," says Umbra’s co-founder and VP Design Paul Rowan, who co-designed STRETCH with Nick Gillissie.

Whether used as an easily portable laundry hamper or to stash and sort items anywhere, the popular CRUNCH® can (far left in photo), designed by Paul Rowan, proves its usefulness every day. Now it’s available patterned with nature-inspired detailing by Sandra Ciganic-McKinney and in four distinctive color combinations.

Any room you keep books in is a good place for the floating CONCEAL shelf (top left above; detail photos below right) A winner in the 2005 Umbra/Pratt Design Competition, CONCEAL becomes invisible thanks to two tiny hooks that clasp the bottom cover of the first book placed on it. Each CONCEAL will hold a stack of up to ten books and, says designer Miron Lior, a Pratt junior, “It adds an element of surprise to any dorm room, home library or office.”
