Poly Thursdays: The Vintage Modern Library
We're starting a Polyvore inspiration page where we can share some 'space' inspiration from week to week. (Join us, maybe?)
Starting with a vintage modern look we feel is best for studies, and that celebrates the old and traditional, with a few visual updates here and there.
Metallics (in bronze or chrome) and woods (the more distressed the varnish the better) work well next to some key pieces that either anchor or accent the room.
Like the Biblioteca, a coffee table-inspired book shelf that showcases your odd pieces and antique finds. The Conceal Shelf, with its 'floating' bare-ist form, also brings an ironic twist when placed in front of a charcoal lace-patterned wallpaper (don't be afraid of mixing patterns).
Accent the room with old rose colors and other current pieces that give old world vibe, while also putting the spotlight on light fixtures that embrace the natural and the untamed. And finish with some scents that give that old wood (or old print) feel.
Before you know it, you have a library that not only appeases your cravings mentally, but also visually.
Got a room you want to share with us? We'd love to see it!
